IMPORTANT REMINDER - Due to the State changing the TAKS Testing Days in April, the Official School Calendar changed the Bad Weather Day from Monday, April 28th to Monday, May 5th

·        Seth Labay finished 2nd, with a time of 39.99, in the 300 hurdles at the Region IV Regional Track Meet, held in San Marcos and will run at the State Track Meet on May 10th in Austin.  This is the first time in around 20 years that a male competitor from Ganado has advanced to the State Meet.  However, he is proud of the fact that he is following in his mother's footsteps as she also advanced to the State Track Meet in High School.

Jacob George wins 2A District Golf Championship -  In a playoff, after scoring an 80, Jacob George earned the top spot in the district and will advance to the next level.  Congratulations to Jacob and Coach Grewe as they continue representing Ganado ISD!

ONE ACT PLAY ADVANCES - In a fantastic performance based upon the holocaust that brought tears to the eyes of the audience, the Ganado ISD One Act Play Cast and Crew were one of the two plays to earn the right to represent our district out of the eight plays performed.  Industrial ISD was the other play to advance.  They will both be performing again at the Industrial auditorium along with four representatives from other districts with two advancing to Regional.  Whitney Boepple earned the Best Actress Award.  Elise Lauderdale earned All Star Cast Honors.  Rosemary Gamble and Brady Engelmohr earned Honorable All Star Cast.  Derrick Hicks Earned the Best Male Technical Crew Award.  Casey Davis earned All Star Tech Crew Honors.  It was a great day for the Ganado ISD Cast, Crew and Directors who are Ms. Jonel Knuppel, Ms. Melissa Fowler, and Ms. Jana Johnson.  They did a great job and we wish them well as they advance!

TWO 2A POWER LIFTING STATE CHAMPIONS FROM GANADO ISD -  Both Brittney Cepak and Ryan Taylor earned a 2008 2A State Championship in Power Lifting.  This was Brittney's third in a row and Ryan's first.  Great Job!

The Ganado Indian Basketball Team won the Goliad Tournament by defeating Goliad (3A) in the Championship Game.  Kolby Tegeler earned the Tournament MVP honors while Seth Labay and Donovan Foster earned All-Tournament Honors.  We have been unable to determine the last tournament win for the Indians, but it appears to have been at least over 15 years ago.  Way to go Indians!!!

The Ganado Band Performed extremely well at the Area Competition.  The "Pride of the Tribe" had their best show of the year and represented Ganado with Class.  Way to go Band!!!

The Ganado Indian Cross Country Team placed 3rd in District with Javier Martinez placing 3rd and Tim Bridges Placing 9th.  The team, consisting of Javier, Tim,  David Brito, Oscar Cantu, Ross Rosalez, Gabriel Salinas, & Martin Salazar, will compete in the Regional Competition in San Antonio on November 3rd.  Good Luck and Great Job!

A list of the AR Tests available in the library is now online.  Ms. Cunningham said that even though we have all of these tests, a few of the books are out of print and not available for checkout.  As we add more tests, the list will be updated.  Please
